One of the most unique projects I have had the pleasure of working on. Originally named Holy Cross Refugio, the clients built a backcountry ski cabin accessible only by hiking in or 4x4 for weekend trips with their friends or the brave "hip camper". The idea expanded and the Gondola Village was born. They decided to try their luck at entering the Air BnB OMG Fund Contest and I was brought on to help develop the concept and provide renders, site plan and some cabin drawings for their submittal. They were selected as winners and their journey at 12,000' feet is underway!

Located outside of Aspen, CO, they are inspired by the area's mining history, mountain culture, and skiing. The project includes two sleeping cabins and three (helicoptered in) vintage gondolas for cooking, dining, and relaxing. An off-the-grid shower and toilet enclosure as well as solar panels keep the site's footprint small while simultaneously immersing the guests in a true high-altitude experience - in harmony with nature.
