One of the most unique projects of Lacy’s career, this venture began as the Holy Cross Refugio— a backcountry ski cabin built by the clients for weekend trips with friends or the adventurous 'hip camper.' Accessible only by hiking or 4x4, the concept soon evolved into the creation of Gondola Village. When the clients decided to enter the Airbnb OMG Fund Contest, Lacy was brought in to help develop the concept, create renders, draft a site plan, and provide cabin drawings for their submission. They were selected as winners, and their journey at 12,000 feet is now underway!

Hidden outside of Aspen, CO, this project draws inspiration from the area's rich mining history, mountain culture, and winter sports. It features two sleeping cabins and three vintage gondolas (transported by helicopter) for cooking, dining, and relaxation. An off-the-grid shower and toilet enclosure, along with solar panels, minimize the site’s footprint while simultaneously immersing guests in an authentic high alpine experience, fully in harmony with nature.
